Hoffenbacker homers; Bouley throws 1-hitter for Glacier

HELENA — Kendra Bouley threw a 1-hitter on Saturday to help the Glacier Wolfpack pick up one win, and Lyndsey Hoffenbacker hit her second home run of the season to claim a second victory for the Wolfpack.

Glacier downed Helena High 10-0 in five innings, then beat Capital 8-1.

“Pretty good day for us,” said Glacier coach Joel Bemis. “We hit the ball a ton. (The Bengals) only had two errors, so we hit the ball. Our pitching was solid and we played great defense,” he added.

Bouley struck out six, gave up one hit and one walk against Helena High. The junior gave up six hits, struck out eight, walked one and hit two in the win over Capital.

Capital committed six errors — four in the fifth inning.

“We were putting the ball in play and they kind of booted it around. We kind of took advantage of those. We were very aggressive base running today,” the coach said.

The Wolfpack also turned its first double play of the season — Paige Latimer to Hoffenbacker to Abby Connolly — against Capital.

“We were solid all the way around,” Bemis said.

Connolly also had a great day at the plate —2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in the Helena contest, and 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Bruins.

The Wolfpack (10-3 overall, 9-2 league) play at Polson Tuesday.
