Man holds off dogs with sprayer

As he sprayed weeds on his Shady Lane lawn Saturday afternoon, a man was charged by a small pack of dogs. After he managed to hit one with the sprayer, the four animals took off.

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the intoxicated woman who was last seen walking home from a Bigfork bar around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hearing his garage door slam, a man thought someone was trying to break into his U.S. 2 residence around 3 a.m. Saturday. Deputies did not locate a prowler.

A hitchhiker was apparently being aggressive toward cars as they passed him along U.S. 93 North early Saturday morning, waving his arms and jumping into traffic. Deputies were unable to locate him.

Deputies received 138 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Four teens were reportedly harassing turtles near the fountain area of Woodland Park, but put the turtles back in the water before Kalispell Police arrived Friday afternoon.

Officers counseled and separated the man and woman yelling and hitting each other at a Liberty Street residence around 3 p.m. Friday.

Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a vehicle apparently jumped the curb and broke a picnic table and front window belonging to a deli on North Meridian.

Believing unknown persons have been entering his Vista Loop residence, a man called police around 7 p.m. Friday. When officers counseled him, he asked it be logged for information that someone sprayed blood inside his house and broke out a window.

Officers counseled parents about the two boys playing in the road on a scooter, causing traffic to stop along Seventh Avenue West Friday night.

Two men were apparently fighting outside a West Idaho gas station around 2 a.m. Saturday.

An unknown man passed out on an Empire Loop porch around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. He was later seen at a gas station waiting for a ride.

Four mailboxes were smashed along Grandview Drive, a resident reported Saturday morning.

A Chow chased and almost bit a small child, then chased a man down the sidewalk along Ninth Avenue West, a resident reported around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The dog’s owner was cited for letting the dog run at large.

Vehicles along Empire Loop were egged Friday night. There are no suspects.

Officers received 76 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish Police were unable to locate the screaming woman walking near the viaduct around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers received 28 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls Police received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alarms

A slash pile along Stoner Creek got out of control and ignited a tree around 9 p.m. Friday. Somers Fire Department extinguished the six foot flames in about ten minutes.

Members of the Alcohol Enforcement Team located a small bonfire party in the woods near Beaver Lake around 11:30 p.m., but there were no underage drinkers there.

Evergreen Ambulance transported one to Kalispell Regional Medical Center following a head-on collision near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Reserve around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
