WHITEFISH — Pitcher Kayla Molzhon held Whitefish to four singles as Thompson Falls claimed a 6-1 nonconference softball victory over Whitefish on Tuesday.

“Thompson Falls has a great team,” Whitefish coach Alan Compton said.

“They played really good defense. The difference in the game was their batters were swinging at strikes, our batters swung at balls.”

Andrea Lamourex, a freshman, made her varsity start at first base for Whitefish.

“She played great,” Compton said.

“I was really proud of her.”

Kelsey Fitchett led Thompson Falls’ offense, going 2-for-3 and driving in two runs. She doubled twice.

Whitefish, 7-7 overall, continues with nonconference play on Thursday at Anaconda. The Bulldogs then head for the Butte Central Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
