'DVD rage' leads to man's arrest

When his “Avatar” DVD wouldn’t play, a man became irate. The 43-year-old apparently started throwing things around the Ashley Lake Road residence, some of which were in the direction of his wife, who called Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was arrested for partner or family member assault, criminal endangerment, resisting arrest, destruction of a communication device and privacy in communications.

Neighbors have been throwing garbage in a Mountain View Drive yard, the resident reported to deputies Tuesday afternoon.

Thinking a small dog had been injured by a horse, a Three Mile Drive resident called deputies, who were able to reunite the animal with its owner.

A 9-year-old-child apparently threatened to kill a 10-year-old child at a Dawn Drive residence around 5 p.m. Monday. Deputies counseled them.

A woman in a black Suburban pulled up to a Mont Pac Lane residence Tuesday evening and said she was waiting for her child. The resident didn’t know what she was talking about. The woman then drove off. When deputies learned the woman is from Havre and that the vehicle was rented in Glacier National Park, they weren’t sure what to make of the situation.

After reporting a woman thought to be stealing groceries, an employee at a Bigfork grocery hung up to chase after her.

Although a concerned citizen got the license plate number of a man who apparently dumps raw sewage at a container site near Ashley Lake, the plate didn’t match any records. Deputies need more information to investigate further.

A 12-year-old boy left on foot after apparently stealing three one-dollar bills from a tip jar at a business on Fifth Avenue West and Center around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Kalispell Police cited him for theft, and he has a week to appear in youth court.

While cleaning a Two Mile Drive residence Tuesday afternoon, someone found a bag with blood on it and notified police, who determined it was not of evidentiary value.

Kalispell Ambulance was dispatched to the snoring man who wouldn’t wake up when found on the back porch of a Seventh Avenue West residence around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. When he was finally roused, he refused transport.
