Additional Flathead National Forest campgrounds, including Holland Lake, Emery, Lid, Murray and Big Creek, opened to the public on Friday.

Other campgrounds — Tally Lake, Big Creek, Lost Johnny Point and Lost Johnny Camp — opened previously.

The campgrounds will have services respective to each location, except Lost Johnny Point.

Water may not be readily available at Lost Johnny Point, but will be in the near future.

Overnight fees are $11 to $15 per camp unit and campers are responsible for removing trash as they depart the site.

All food and food-related items should be stored in a bear-resistant manner. The Flathead National Forest is home to grizzly and black bears, and responsible human actions will help with unwanted bear encounters.

Several of the campsites experienced winter vandalism and the Forest Service asks all forest users to be respectful of the facilities.

For more information, contact a local forest service office or visit www.fs.fed.us/r1/flathead.
