Evidence from an alleged kidnapping and rape Sunday night in Hungry Horse has been submitted to the Montana State Crime Lab to further the investigation and potentially identify any additional suspects, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Thursday.

Other people of interest have been interviewed for possible involvement in the case, but authorities are not releasing their identities, Sheriff Mike Meehan said in the news release.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Detective Commander Jeanne Landis said it could be months before lab results are back.

In the meantime, detectives are actively pursuing leads.

Landis said detectives are corroborating statements and “sorting out the pieces of the puzzle” before making additional arrests in the case.

The Flathead County Attorney’s Office has charged Kasey D. Kehoe, 27, with sexual intercourse without consent and kidnapping, both felonies, for allegedly pulling a woman into a truck, driving away with her and raping her.

Another man, identified only as “Nate,” allegedly sexually assaulted her as well, according to court documents.

A man named Nate Supnet, 24, was taken into custody Tuesday as a person of interest in the case, but a preliminary investigation suggests he wasn’t involved, Landis said.

“There is not any reason to believe anyone else is in danger,” she said when asked about the potential public safety risk. She added that authorities believe this was an isolated incident.

According to the sheriff’s statement, “detectives are unable to comment on this investigation until all suspects and potential witnesses are interviewed in order to not jeopardize the investigation.”
