Minivan prayer session declined

A man reportedly approached a woman outside a Nucleus Avenue grocery Thursday and asked her to come to his minivan to pray. Although he said it would only take a couple of minutes, she declined. Columbia Falls Police are investigating the incident.

Spotting two kids going through cars along View Drive around 4:30 a.m. Friday, officers attempted to contact them, but they ran into the woods. Officers are investigating reports of thefts of electronics from vehicles parked along View Drive, Grace Road and Fifth Avenue West.

Officers received 27 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

A woman was arrested for assault with a weapon after she apparently had a baseball bat while arguing with her boyfriend at a Conrad Drive residence around 11 a.m. Friday. Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies also arrested the man was for partner or family member assault.

Plastic was blowing from a white truck as it headed across the bridge on Montana 35 around 5 p.m. Thursday.

A man ate $12.95 in food, then left a Bigfork restaurant without paying around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies warned the man who was urinating near a truck parts store on Montana 35 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The injured hummingbird deputies found was given to the bird lady Thursday night.

Montana Fish and Game handled the report of a mountain lion seen in the backyard of a South Many Lakes Drive residence at 8:44 p.m. Thursday.

Riding her bike along Lodgepole Drive around 10 a.m. Friday, a woman saw a man shooting at a fence. Deputies were unable to locate him.

Thinking the teens peering into the windows of a vacant Nicholson Drive residence around 2 p.m. Friday looked suspicious, a neighbor called deputies. They learned the teens’ vehicle was disabled and they were looking for help.

Deputies received 145 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell Police were called after a woman was seen apparently breaking into a wrecking yard on West Center Street around midnight Thursday. She told officers she was there to feed stray cats.

A Sixth Street West resident suspects a neighbor has been peering in the windows and attempted to enter the residence through a window. The resident later noted that the screen may have been removed by a kid. Officers gave advice on how to make the home more secure.

After a man asked three underage smokers to leave the breezeway along North Meridian Thursday afternoon, they apparently wanted to start a fight with him. They left on foot before officers arrived.

Police were called after loud thumping was heard coming from a Sixth Avenue West North residence. Although officers learned the occupants were “just having a good time,” they arrested a woman on a Lake County warrant.

Police counseled the woman refusing to return a child to another woman around 9 a.m. Friday morning.

Officers received 80 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Using a weird voice, someone has been calling a Pine Avenue resident from a restricted number.

A reportedly suspicious camper seen near the Whitefish Police firing range around 1:30 p.m. Friday belonged to a church.
