Graduation ceremonies begin on Saturday

All who’ve missed the sight of tasseled hats and polyester robes can get their fix starting Saturday as graduation season arrives in Flathead County.

In the next 10 days, more than 1,000 seniors from eight high schools — plus a handful of home-schooled students — will graduate. Following is a list of ceremonies for all who want to make the commencement circuit.

n Home-schooled students are the first to get their diplomas. The Flathead Home Educators Association hosts a home-school graduation ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Commencement takes place at the Christian Center, 255 Summit Ridge Drive in Kalispell. A reception will follow in the church activities center.

Twenty-one graduates will take part in the ceremony. For additional information, call 892-0437.

n Laser School’s graduation is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, in the Linderman Education Center gymnasium.

There are 55 graduates this year, including several who finished school at the end of fall semester. It’s the largest graduating class Laser has ever had.

n Stillwater Christian School students graduate at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, in the high school gym.

There are 23 graduates in this year’s class.

n Saturday, June 5, is the day most public school students will graduate. Bigfork High School’s ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in the high school gym. There are 70 seniors in this year’s class.

n Commencement at Columbia Falls High School begins at 11 a.m. June 5 in the school gym. There are 171 graduating seniors.

n Flathead High School’s graduation also is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 5 in the high school gym. There are 323 seniors in this year’s class.

n Whitefish High School will graduate 127 seniors this year. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. June 5 in the school gym.

n There are 280 graduates at Glacier High School. The ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. June 5 in the high school gym.

n Graduation season wraps up June 7 when Bridge Academy’s 21 seniors receive their diplomas. The ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Outlaw Inn in Kalispell.
