Man's lost pants due to 'rough night'

Somewhere in an alley, a man lost his pants, wallet and shoes Wednesday night. When asked how this happened, the man did not care to elaborate, according to Kalispell Police, and only said he “had a rough night.”

Officers are investigating a case of alleged embezzlement in the amount of $2,000 or more from Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Wild rabbits are overpopulating the neighborhood, according to a Seventh Avenue West resident, who said the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office wouldn’t handle the matter because it occurred in the city. However, the city has no ordinance about rabbits running at large. Officers will leave traps for the resident’s use.

A 77-year-old man was cited and released for apparently shoplifting AAA batteries from a Third Avenue East North grocery Thursday afternoon. His grandchildren remained in the car during the incident.

A trailer for sale in the old Eisinger’s parking lot looked familiar to a passerby, who may have reported it stolen two years ago. Officers are investigating.

A single shot was heard in the Third Avenue East area around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, but officers did not locate its cause.

Someone who lives at the corner of Seventh Avenue West North and Washington Street throws dog feces in the street, a neighbor reported at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. Officers did not locate the offending excrement.

Officers are investigating a report of a fraudulently obtained hydrocodone prescription that a suspect attempted to fill at a West Idaho pharmacy around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Officers received 90 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

A goat suffered a broken horn and other major injuries after it was attacked by a neighbor’s border collie, a Kila resident reported at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies left a notice for the dog’s owner.

Deputies counseled the parents of the 12-year-old boy who reportedly threw a picture off the wall of an Eckelberry Drive residence Wednesday afternoon.

The parents of children riding mini bikes up and down Lake Blaine Road around 5 p.m. Wednesday were advised to keep their kids off the roadway.

Someone has apparently been trespassing in the woods adjacent to a Haskill Basin Road property.

A woman called deputies after her ex followed her to her residence, thus learning where she lives. He has apparently kicked in her door in the past.

People inside a vehicle driving along Fifth Avenue East North were either shooting paintballs or fireworks. Deputies were unable to locate the apparent offenders.

Although a woman removed the license plates from her dark gray Hyundai so her ex-boyfriend wouldn’t steal it, he took the car anyway, the Bernard Road resident reported at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Deputies were unable to locate the car.

Deputies were called to free the cat trapped in a pile of logs in a Parkview Drive field.

Deputies received 166 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A dog remains in serious condition at an animal hospital after it was shot with a  pellet gun at a residence near the intersection of First Avenue West and First Street West Thursday morning.

Columbia Falls Police are investigating a report of stalking at Columbia Falls High.

Officers received 17 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish Police received 14 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
