Four young musicians — Zach Matteson, Jake Gloschat, Jessica Chon and Arrianna Noland — have received scholarships from the Glacier Symphony and Chorale.

Matteson is a Glacier High School senior who has played violin with the Glacier Symphony for four years.

He will attend college this fall at the University of Maryland, pursuing a career in violin performance

Gloschat, also a Glacier High senior, has been studying percussion and voice for the past seven years.

He will attend the music program at the University of Utah this fall to become a music educator.

Chon is a 10th-grade home school student who plays violin with the symphony. She will attend the Kennedy Center National Student Orchestra Summer Music Institute this summer.

Noland, a home school junior, has been studying voice for many years.

She will attend the Brigham Young Musicians Summer Festival this June and hopes to attend that school’s music program when she graduates.

She currently sings with the Glacier Chorale.

The Glacier Symphony and Chorale annually awards music scholarships to students in grades 9 to 12 including graduating seniors.

The program encourages student participation in the Glacier Symphony and Chorale and assists those musicians in pursuing musical careers or an avocation in music.
