Man OK after collision with semi

A man was transported to the hospital after his car collided with a semi around noon Friday. According to Kalispell Police, his two-door passenger vehicle was apparently struck by a two-door Chrysler passenger vehicle that was entering U.S. 93 from Cemetery Road, pushing his car into a northbound semi trailer hauling concrete powder. The car’s occupant was transported via Kalispell Ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with an arm injury, but has since been released. Officers are still collecting statements about the incident and an investigation into the crash is ongoing. No citations have yet been issued.

Four youngsters admitted to stealing a Razor scooter from a Third Avenue West porch Thursday afternoon and ditching it somewhere, but when they went back to retrieve it, it was gone. The owner told police he wanted money to buy a new one and an apology.

A “drugged-out” man continues to ring the bell of a Second Avenue West residence, the resident reported to police Thursday night. When officers asked more questions and for a description of the man, she reportedly hung up. Officers eventually located the man and released him to his sister.

A cleaning lady at a Financial Drive business found twine tied around her cleaning cart when she want to get it from the janitor’s closet around 8 p.m. Thursday, possibly as part of a practical joke. Officers advised her to lock the door to the janitor’s closet.

Officers did not locate the man, dressed in black, seen stumbling westbound along Fourth Avenue West around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Although two drunken men were reportedly fighting in the middle of Garland Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday, officers did not locate them.

It appeared the cowboy hat-wearing man sitting inside a red truck was drinking whiskey around 1:30 p.m. Friday, but it was really iced tea, officers learned.

Officers received 64 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The suspicious camo-covered person reportedly carrying a gun along the Rails to Trails path was gone when Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrived Thursday night.

Along Tally Lake Road around 11 p.m. Thursday, deputies located the woman who said she was walking to Florida and gave her a ride to a local motel.

Deputies plan to follow up on the report of a neighbor’s dog attacking a cat belonging to a Gordon Avenue resident.

A worried mother has contacted Michigan law enforcement after her 19-year-old daughter met a man on the Internet and, after about a month of correspondence, took a train to meet him.

Deputies received 164 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish Police received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls Police received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.
