'Grave robber' was only weeding

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to a possible grave robber Saturday at a cemetery at the corner of Rose Crossing and Whitefish Stage Road. It turned out be a woman weeding and putting flowers on her husband’s grave.

A neighbor dispute erupted on First Avenue South in Martin City Saturday afternoon. Boys were reportedly harassing a neighbor.

Neighbors also were arguing on U.S. 93 North. Deputies counseled them.

A family was arguing among themselves Saturday evening on Klondike Loop, but no complaint was filed.

Deputies received a report of a man with possible hypothermia on the Wild Mile of the Swan River in Bigfork a little after 6 p.m. Saturday. He was located but refused treatment.

Two men were reportedly misbehaving by using inappropriate language and finger signs at a convenience store in Hungry Horse. An extra patrol was requested in the area.

An oil slick was spotted in Woods Bay near a local restaurant. The leak apparently was gas and oil from a boat.

An alert camper spotted a wanted person in a campground on Hungry Horse Reservoir. He was gone when a deputy arrived.

An intoxicated woman caused a disturbance at a residence on South Woodland Avenue Saturday night. She was given a ride to another location.

Deputies counseled a transient who was causing concern at a market on Wisconsin Avenue Saturday. He moved on.

Residents on Pleasant Valley Road in Marion became concerned late Saturday about a car driving around the area. The suspicious person was gone when a deputy arrived.

A call just after 11 p.m. Saturday resulted in a man arrested for partner assault for an incident on Whitefish Stage Road.

Yelling and a commotion reported on Swan River Road turned out to be a movie that was a little too loud.

An unwanted person on Montana 35 was given a ride home.

A suspicious person reported on Electric Avenue in Bigfork turned out to be a man passed out in a vehicle. He was given a ride to his motel.

Deputies moved along an intoxicated man who was making a nuisance of himself on Bridge Street early Sunday.

A theft was reported Sunday at a coffee store in Whitefish after a person made an unauthorized charge to a credit card.

A shopper at an Evergreen grocery store alerted deputies on Sunday that another shopper left children in a vehicle and then left without buckling them into their seats. Deputies could not locate the errant parent.

A burglary was discovered Sunday on Iowa Avenue. Items were missing and the house was ransacked.

Two bicycles were found missing from property on South Woodland Avenue on Sunday.

Reports came in early Sunday about three men drinking and using foul language in downtown Bigfork. They left the area before deputies arrived.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to 108 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Kalispell Police investigated a fight on Hawthorne Avenue Sunday morning.

Someone cut a cable and stole a lawn mower from a hardware store on Seventh Avenue West.

A caller reported people yelling, children crying and doors slamming around 4 a.m. Saturday, but all was quiet and unresponsive when police checked out the home on Sixth Avenue West.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, a caller summoned officers to investigate an assault, but the victim refused to give officers any information about the attacker or where the assault took place.

A man found outside a casino on Airport Road around 2 a.m. Sunday was the victim of an assault including a head injury that required a trip to the emergency room. The man was too intoxicated to give any information.

Officers cleared out several cars of teenagers from the corner of a grocery store parking lot Saturday night. They had been gathering and asked to leave for the last few nights.

A baseboard heater on fire at an apartment on Windward Way caused nearby apartments to evacuate. The fire was soon extinguished.

Drivers reported a frustrated wait at a stoplight by Hutton Ranch that stayed red for five minutes and then blinked green for about five seconds.

A black backpack containing a Kindle, laptop, wallet with cash and credit cards was taken from the lobby of a hotel on U.S. 2 West. The suspect was a man with brown hair, but no other descriptive details were available.

Owners of a motel on North Main were threatened several times Saturday by an employee who was fired on Friday. Officers left a message for him on his voice mail.

Kalispell Police responded to 58 calls between about 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Columbia Falls Police had a computer failure Sunday and were unable to report log activity.
