Park pedaler gets punched over pot

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in a short pursuit of a man driving a pickup truck on Montana 206 before the man ditched the vehicle and ran into a forest. The man was being pursued after a woman reported he pointed a gun at her face.

In Evergreen, three gunshots were reportedly heard by someone on U.S. 2 East.

Three chain saws, studded tires and other belongings were reported stolen from a storage unit on Montana 35 in Bigfork.

On Dorothy Street in Columbia Falls, a man said he was receiving death threats in text messages sent from an unknown phone number.

Five gallons of paint spilled out of a truck on U.S. 2 East and the driver of the truck attempted to clean up the mess.

Copper wire was stolen from a substation on U.S. 2 East.

A pitbull was seen chewing on a dead deer on Denver Street near Whitefish.

An apparent transient living on North Fork Road said he stashed a handgun in the woods and it was gone when he returned.

Four-wheelers were seen trespassing on property near Bear Canyon Road in Lakeside.

A German Shepherd was seen chasing animals on North Hill Road.

On Smith Lake Road, someone reported that their neighbor had not returned a vehicle that was loaned to them the day before.

After attempting to steal batteries and a soda, a boy was cited for shoplifting at a business on U.S. 2 East.

A customer at a hotel on Montclair Drive was accused of stealing a bed spread.

A woman on First Avenue South in Martin City said five juveniles were “throwing rocks at her critters.” The boys denied it.

A report was taken after a woman on Grand Drive in Bigfork told someone that her boyfriend had choked her.

Kalispell Police Department officers responded to Woodland Park after a caller reported that a man pushed another man off a bicycle and punched him twice in an attempt to acquire marijuana.

In a parking lot of a business on Third Avenue East North, a caller witnessed someone steal something out of the bed of a pickup truck.

Medications were reported stolen from someone at an inn on First Avenue West.

Someone at the same inn reported that a tenant had a loaded gun and was making threats. The man later gave the gun to officers who said they would return it to him later.

A man on Liberty Street said his neighbor was cursing at him and making threats.

On Second Street West, a cellular phone was reported stolen from a purse.

A driver left a business on East Idaho Street without paying for $40 in gasoline.

A dispute arose after  a company attempted to repossess the vehicle of a resident on College Avenue.

During another repossession gone wrong, a man said he was being followed by the owner of a vehicle he repossessed near the intersection of U.S. 2 East and Montana 35. Officers separated the two men.

A welfare check was requested after two drunk people were seen under a tree on U.S. 2 West.

The mother of a child who started a Dumpster fire Wednesday called from Seventh Avenue West to speak with officers.

A man seen stumbling in the road near Second Avenue East assured officers he was going to find a place to sleep for the night.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on a warrant after an alleged physical altercation with a teen on College Avenue.

On U.S. 93 North, a truck was seen with a gasoline pump handle hanging from the side of the vehicle.

Someone broke the window of a vehicle on Eighth Avenue East North.

And eighth grade student was involved in a verbal argument with a 10th grade student at a school near First Avenue East.

Two men were seen “playing chicken” by running back and forth across North Main Street.

A hit and run was reported on Second Avenue East after a street sweeper was struck by a truck.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of fraudulent charges to a closed bank account from a caller on Wisconsin Avenue.
