Burglar takes items, but not far

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office got a burglary report on Montclair Drive Sunday morning, but the caller soon after was able to locate the stolen items in a backpack, which had also been stolen, near his residence.

There was a report of two vehicles being broken into, with items taken, on Trumbull Creek Loop.

Someone called to report a saxophone being stolen from a vehicle at a Madison Square address.

A computer, jewelry and electronics were reportedly taken from a home on Blaine Heights Road.

Early Monday, a deputy investigated suspiciously parked vehicle near a vehicle dealership on Montana 35. The people involved were cleared after being checked out.

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday afternoon regarding a man who had relieved himself and passed out in the bathroom at a business on the East North side of Kalispell.

Monday, at about 1:30 a.m., a person called to report loud banging noises and a girl screaming in an apartment upstairs on the 1400 block of Third Avenue East. An ambulance was requested for a woman who had a laceration on her head, and a man was arrested for partner-family member assault.

A man who said he was "protesting" something in front of the courthouse called to report that people were harassing him.

There was a report of someone attempting to steal from a store on the 1700 block of Third Avenue East, and then fleeing the scene with the reporting party attempting to chasa him down. The would-be thief could not be located, but police have video footage of the incident.
