Laptop spurs spat between women

Allegations flew both ways after the Kalispell Police Department responded to a call from a woman on Appleway Drive who said a laptop stolen from her apartment was in the back seat of a neighbor’s vehicle. Officers returned the laptop to the woman, but the neighbor countered that the woman had broken into her vehicle and planted the computer there.

Someone spray-painted the Star of David on six vehicles and a swastika on a house. The vandalism was reported on First Avenue West and on Fifth Street West.

A 41-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence after a collision on U.S. 2 West.

A skateboard was reported stolen at a home near West Center Street and Fourth Avenue West.

Someone egged a truck on South Main Street.

Three males accused by a passerby of vandalizing a wall near East Idaho Street actually were painting over graffiti.

On First Street West, a man was cited for disorderly conduct after allegedly kicking another man in the face during an argument at a bar.

A girl was cited for being in possession of alcohol after she and three others were reported for sitting in a car while playing loud music on Appleway Drive.

Graffiti was reported on a building on Meridian Court. A vehicle was spray-painted with graffiti on First Avenue West.

Someone who bought headlights on West Center Street said the seller skipped town without providing the product.

A window was shattered at a business on West Idaho Street.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a man on Blaine Mountain Road who said he shot a rottweiler after it acted aggressively toward him and his dog. The owner of the dog had not been located.

A woman reported that her dog bit one of two teenage boys who wandered on to her property near Airport Road. She said the boy had to get a tetanus shot.

An investigation was forwarded to the county attorney’s office after a woman on Parkside Drive said her ex-boyfriend was sending threatening messages to her current boyfriend.

Someone cut the lock of a storage unit on U.S. 93 South, but nothing appeared to be missing.

An old rifle was found in a wooded area behind a business on Tavern Lane near Columbia Falls.

A burglary was reported at a home on Big Sky Boulevard when the owner noticed several belongings were missing.

A man selling vacuum cleaners was reported as suspicious on Vonderheide Lane and Pioneer Road.

Harassment was alleged on Lakeside Avenue after a caller said a man was making threats.

Medication was reported stolen from a vehicle on South Woodland Drive.

A report of an emaciated horse on Lupfer Road is being investigated.

An 11-year-old boy who got out of his mother’s car on Riverside Drive and began walking, saying he was headed to Idaho, eventually got back in the vehicle after speaking with a deputy.

Harassment was reported on Parliament Drive after a female said she was receiving text messages rife with name-calling and sexual references.

A laptop computer and $19 was stolen from a vehicle on Whitefish Stage Road.

The Whitefish Police Department is asking for information from the public following a burglary in which an estimated $7,000 in belongings were stolen. Two Samsung ultra flat televisions, an iPad docking station and an Apple Mini Mac computer were stolen from a home that is under construction on Barkley Lane. The burglary occurred sometime between Nov. 8 and 9. Crimestoppers, which can be reached at 753-8477, is offering an award of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

A man was accused of trespassing at a business on Central Avenue.

On Wisconsin Avenue, elk antlers were reported stolen from a vehicle.

A road-rage incident was reported on Farm to Market Road after a man said he passed someone, who then began tailgating and shining his high beams. The drivers were counseled.
