Find food, fellowship at Thanksgiving feasts

Free Thanksgiving fare will be offered this week at a variety of locations in Northwest Montana:

The Whitefish Foursquare Church is offering a free community Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Doors open at 5 p.m. Serving will continue until 6:15 p.m.

The church is located at 233 Kalispell Ave. in Whitefish. For more information, call 862-1653.

Sykes’ Restaurant in Kalispell continues its Thanksgiving dinner tradition with a free holiday meal with all the trimmings, served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Everyone is welcome.

For those in the greater Kalispell area who are unable to get to Sykes’, delivery is available to your door. Reservations will be taken until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Sykes’ is located at 202 Second Ave. W.

Pick’s Bowling Center in Bigfork is hosting a free Thanksgiving Day dinner starting at 2 p.m. for families or individuals that have fallen on hard times, and to those who do not have family in the immediate area.

For further details or to make a donation of turkeys, hams or side dishes, call Diane Hayes or Elizabeth Pickavance at 837-2233.

The seventh annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Ronan Community Center, 300 Third Ave. N.W.

The menu includes a traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings.

Entertainment will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a variety of bands performing.

There is no charge for the dinner but financial donations are welcomed. They may be sent to the Ronan Community Volunteers, P.O. Box 751, Pablo, MT 59855.

The dinner is sponsored by the Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce, Ronan Community Volunteers and local 4-H members.

Polson’s community Thanksgiving dinner is open to anyone but especially to those who need companionship and a good homemade meal.

The dinner is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the center, 504 Third Ave. E. There also will be live music.

The dinner is free but donations will be accepted and divided between the Polson Area Senior Center and the Polson Ministerial Association’s Helping Hands Fund.

Home delivery orders and requests for rides must be placed with the center by 3 p.m. Wednesday at 883-4735.

The Pocketstone Cafe in Bigfork is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner to residents of the Flathead Valley.

The meal is being provided for those who cannot or would prefer not to celebrate Thanksgiving on their own.

The menu includes soup, turkey, dressing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and dessert. All are welcome. Those who would like to attend are asked to call for reservations at 837-1162, since seating is limited.

A donation jar will be available and all contributions will be given to the Bigfork Food Bank.

Three seatings will be available: at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. If space and food are available, walk-ins will be accommodated between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The cafe is located at 444 Electric Ave., Bigfork.
