Thief runs out of her own shoes

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered a woman’s shoes at a business on U.S. 2 East after she fled with stolen makeup. The theft is under investigation.

A caller on Third Avenue South in Martin City said a neighbor was shooting a bow and arrow at the road. The apparent archer was counseled.

For the second consecutive day, someone on East Oregon Street reported a “theft of services” after someone put trash in a Dumpster that didn’t belong to them.

Someone broke swings, knifed slides and otherwise vandalized a playground near U.S. 93 in Bigfork. 

Power cables were stolen from a construction site on Hungry Horse Dam Road.

An allegedly unruly 16-year-old girl on Tamarack Lane near Columbia Falls was arrested for partner/family member assault.

On Valley View Drive, a woman told deputies her son has sprayed a chemical all over the house and she was afraid it might start a fire. She wanted someone to talk to her son about it.

The smell of “death” was in the air on Helena Flats Road, according to a man who reported a foul odor. Deputies determined it was emanating from a nearby beef farm.

A verbal disturbance was reported on Trumble Creek Road after a man allegedly told his neighbors they “should be dead.” All parties were separated.

Two vehicles – a pickup truck and a car — were reported stolen from a storage area near Montana 40 West in Columbia Falls.

A checkbook was reported stolen from a residence on Deer Street in Coram.

Horses were roaming free near Big Horn Drive after a man said someone turned off his electric fence.

Someone slashed all four tires of a vehicle parked near Pleasant Drive.

A man on Numa Peak Lane said his neighbor assaulted him. He said it was the latest incident in an ongoing feud.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a yard near Montana 35 in Evergreen.

On Olney Loop, a caller said a neighbor’s dog had jumped out of a bush and growled. On Park Street in Kalispell, a dog was accused of killing the caller’s chickens — again.

An ex-employee of a business on East Oregon Street caused a verbal disturbance after a dispute over pay, according to a caller.

Someone reported a wallet stolen on Montana 35 near Kalispell months after it went missing.

Kalispell Police Department officers received a report of a burglary at a business on Second Street East. Someone apparently entered the rear of the business and stole the cash register.

Someone reportedly knocked on a door at 2:30 a.m. on Woodland Avenue and left a purse on the doorstep. It was logged as evidence.

A man was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct after an incident on First Alley West North.

A woman on Third Avenue East said she has a joint bank account with her sister and that the sister took $12,000 from the account.

Items were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle near U.S. 93 North.

A father was reunited with his young son after the approximately 4-year-old boy wandered to a playground near Claremont Street.

Someone took a gas can from an open garage near North Meridian Road.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a fenced backyard on First Avenue West.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a 90-year-old woman on West Colorado Street. The woman’s daughter later determined her mother wasn’t responding because her hearing aids were out.

CDs were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked near Fourth Avenue West North.

A vehicle struck the awning at a drive-through restaurant near North Main Street.

A credit card was used three times before the owner reported it stolen on First Avenue West.

Someone was banging on a door and trying to get into a house on Sylvan Court.

A man was arrested for partner/family member assault after fighting with a woman on Third Avenue East.

A laptop computer, duffel bag and CamelBak hydration system were reported stolen from a locked vehicle on Ashley Court. Medication, registration and an insurance card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Ruddy Duck Drive.

On Rosewood Drive, a caller said someone used a knife to cut the soft-top of his jeep.

Three vehicles were rifled through and unknown items were missing on Second Avenue West.
