Platke leads Class A boys, McConnell shares first
LAUREL - In individual play, Whitefish is doing just fine.
Defending state champ Reed Platke shot a 75 for the opening-round lead at the Class A state golf tournament on Friday at the Laurel Golf Course.
Kiley McConnell shot a 78 to share the first-round lead with Kyla Clancy of Billings Central.
Team-wise, its been more of a struggle for the Bulldogs.
The Whitefish girls shot 376, which places them third, while the Whitefish boys turned in a 342, which puts them in fifth.
The Polson boys are seventh, and Columbia Falls is 11th.
The Polson girls are fourth and Columbia Falls is eighth.
The final round is today at Laurel Golf Course.
