Kalispell Public Schools has an immediate opening on its board of trustees.

Board member Tiffany Lonnevick, who was elected to a three-year term in May, has moved out of the school district and no longer is eligible to serve as a trustee. That opens up a seat on the elementary board.

The remaining trustees will appoint someone to the vacant position. That person will serve until the next regular school election in May 2011. At that time, he or she will be eligible to run for the remaining two years of the term.

The trustee must be a registered voter and live in the Kalispell elementary district.

Those who are qualified and interested in the position should send a letter and brief resume to Board of Trustees, Kalispell Public Schools, 233 First Ave. E., Kalispell, MT 59901, or to schottled@sd5.k12.mt.us. The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. Friday.

For further information, contact Superintendent Darlene Schottle at 751-3434.
