Starting Monday, teachers in the Whitefish School District may pick up applications for the most recent round of grants through the Whitefish Education Foundation.

The foundation, which awards grants twice a year, plans to give teachers about $4,000 during this cycle, according to a press release from the nonprofit organization.

The grants are intended as supplemental funding for projects for which there is no money in the regular school budget.

Applications for this grant cycle, as well as the criteria and procedures for the grants, are available in Whitefish school offices.

Building principals must approve applications before they are returned to Superintendent Jerry House.

Applications are due Oct. 25 and will be reviewed by a Whitefish Education Foundation advisory board Nov. 12. The grants will be awarded at a breakfast in the Whitefish Middle School auditorium lobby Nov. 18.

For further information, call the foundation at 862-1276 or visit www.wfef.org.
