Finder's fee too low, but dog returned

The Kalispell Police Department helped return a dog to a woman on Fourth Street West after the person who found it said the reward wasn’t large enough. The owner of the dog had been contacted by an anonymous caller who read a lost animal advertisement in the newspaper and knew the person who had the dog on Ninth Avenue West.

Police were notified of a film being showed by a white supremacist group at the Flathead County Library. One participant accused another attendee of violating a protection order. Counter demonstrators staged a vigil nearby.

A hit-and-run collision was reported on Woodland Park Drive after someone backed into a vehicle and drove off.

A bartender at a business on U.S. 93 South was accused of serving alcohol to minors, but an officer determined there were no minors in the business.

A 90-year-old man fell off a bicycle on West Oregon Street.

Three boys were accused of throwing rocks and calling someone names on Fifth Avenue West. They were on bicycles and saying “bad words,” according to the caller.

A fight was reported at an apartment complex on Glenwood Drive.

A former employee was accused of trespassing at a business on North Main.

Two 19-year-old males were arrested for possession of alcohol on Glenwood Drive.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools after allegedly stealing items from a business on North Meridian Road.

The glass front door of a business on East Center Street was broken.

Medication was reported stolen on Boise Avenue.

Skis were stolen from a vehicle on Seventh Avenue West.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants on Eighth Avenue West.

On East Evergreen Drive, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a caller who said that a suspicious man in a truck was taking pictures of a girl as she walked home. Additional officers were sent to the area.

Five horses were in a yard on Wishart Road after escaping an enclosure.

A father reported his daughter for being unruly at a home on Kokanee Bend Drive near Columbia Falls. He said he was going to disable her vehicle.

On Seminole Lane near Columbia Falls, a couple reported that a speeding vehicle passed them twice as they were walking. When the man shouted at the driver to slow down, the driver threatened to “slash” him.

A man on Jellison Road was arrested on suspicion of partner/family member assault after allegedly hitting a woman.

A boxer and a pit bull jumped on a vehicle on Bierney Creek Road in Lakeside.

A teenage girl was cited for shoplifting at a business on U.S. 2 East.

A 58-year-old man said he was held against his will for 30 minutes at a home on Beaver Lake Road.

Three gunshots were heard near a cemetery on U.S. 2 East.

A woman on Shady Lane said she was assaulted by her sister-in-law.

A woman was accused of threatening to “break things” on Antelope Trail near Whitefish.

Someone on Columbia Falls Stage Road called after hearing a mysterious crashing sound. It was later determined a cat had knocked over a bird cage.

A man on Pheasant Drive said he was punched and scratched by a woman.
