Julia Smith had 12 kills, 20 digs and eight service aces to lead Stillwater Christian past District 7B Bigfork 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 on Saturday.

Stillwater improved to 25-0 with the win.

Mallery Knoll led the Valkyries with 15 kills, 21 digs and three aces.

"Wow, what a competitive match! I give Bigfork a lot of credit. They played a great defensive match. Tracy is doing a great job there. Bigfork really came to play," said Stillwater coach Dave Shawback.

"Mallery is so tough, both offensively and defensively," he added.

"My girls stepped up behind great leadership and played very hard after dropping the first set," he said.

"Julia Smith continues to play a great all-around game and Morgan Paolini set so well," he said.

Shawback also complimented the efforts of Katie Harrel and Samantha Red Elk.

The Cougars play host on Tuesday to Eureka.

Kills - Bigfork 43 (Mallery Knoll 15), Stillwater Christian 32 (Julia Smith 12). Blocks - Bigfork 3 (Melissa Vanderveer), Stillwater Christian 7 (Katie Harrel 3). Digs - Bigfork 87 (Knoll 21, Kiana Wickland 17), Stillwater Christian 80 (Smith 20, Morgan Paolini 18). Assists - Bigfork 35 (Hannah Barrett 18, Taylor Peck 16), Stillwater Christian 28 (Paolini 26). Aces - Bigfork 11 (VanDerveer 3, Knoll 3), Stillwater Christian 17 (Smith 8).

Eureka 3, Plains 0

PLAINS - Cassidy Morgan, Tasha Mikita and Selene Elster all had 10 kills each as Eureka's balance was too much for Plains in a District 7B match.

Eureka won: 25-16, 25-19, 25-18.

"The kids played well, all of them did," Eureka coach Rhonda Hammond said. "That was a big win."

Eureka (10-5 overall, 8-2 7B) is guaranteed at least a tie for the district regular-season title. The Lions have either won or shared a district title for eight-straight years.
