Bravettes lose finale to Sentinel

MISSOULA - Missoula Sentinel blanked Flathead 2-0 on Monday to capture the Western AA division girls soccer title in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Sentinel (9-0-3) scored a goal in each half, 19 minutes into play by Kennedy Fulbright and at 61 minutes by Nasrin Chaudhry.

Flathead (7-2-3) outshot Sentinel on goal 7-5, but trailed in corner kicks 9-0.

Fulbright played a major role in Sentinel beating the Bravettes in the first meeting on Sept. 18. She had a hat trick in Kalispell for a 3-2 victory over FHS.

The loss leaves Flathead as the No. 2 seed and with a home playoff match against No. 7 seed Missoula Hellgate on Friday at 4 p.m. at Kidsports Complex with the winner advancing to state.

Glacier's playoff match is scheduled for Wednesday at Missoula Big Sky at 4 p.m. The Wolfpack is seeded No. 6 and Big Sky is No. 3.

The Class AA state tournament is scheduled for Oct. 28-30 in Great Falls.
