Gary Lee Hoxmer, 70, passed away at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Oct. 18, 2010. Gary was born April 8, 1940, in Jordan, to Gilbert and June Hoxmer. He graduated from Flathead County High School in 1958. Gary enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in December 1962. He worked for his father-in-law and learned all aspects of sign manufacturing, including the art of blowing neon glass. Gary married Jeanette Therrien on Aug. 14, 1958, at St. Matthew s Catholic Church in Kalispell. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in August of this year. Gary and his brother-in-law bought the business after the death of his father-in-law. Gary loved bowling, lake trout fishing, playing craps in Las Vegas, playing pool and telling his famous Chinese joke. His lawn has been described by many as looking like velvet. Gary s health forced him to retire in 1998. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and June Hoxmer; and daughter, Laurie Hoxmer. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Steve Hoxmer, of Las Vegas; daughter, Valerie Goss, and husband, Duke, of Kalispell; and grandsons, Colter and Bridger Goss.
