Robert Oscar Goes, 90

Robert Oscar Goes, 90, passed away Oct. 21, 2010, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. Bob was born July 18, 1920, in Glen Ellyn, Ill., to Oscar and Clara Goes. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was stationed in the British Isles and Northern Ireland where he met and married Eliza Jane McAllister in 1945. He was a loving husband and father. After he retired, he moved to the Flathead Valley to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. He loved music and was active and sharp until the end, with a great sense of humor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lily ; and his brother, Louis. He is survived by three sons, Mike who lives in Tennessee, Rick in North Carolina and Martin in Washington state; one daughter, Geri Jacobs, of Creston; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all. A private family memorial service is planned to celebrate his life. Arrangements are under the direction of Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory.
