Flathead falls to Hellgate, 20-15

MISSOULA — Travis Ozegovich had the biggest rushing night of his football season on Friday as he gained 95 yards on 18 carries, but the Missoula Hellgate Knights downed the Flathead Braves 20-15 at Missoula County Stadium.

It’s the first win for Hellgate  (2-7) over Flathead (1-8) since 1995.

The Knights led 13-6 at half. Flathead tied the score in the third quarter on a Mike VanArendonk 1-yard run, but Hellgate’s Jake Arledge answered with a 7-yard jaunt to put the Knights ahead 20-13.

VanArendonk was 18-for-36 for 181 yards passing and two interceptions on the night. George Sherwood caught five passes for 59 yards and Tevin Groshelle caught one 16-yard touchdown pass.

The Braves finish the season by hosting the Helena Bengals next Friday.
