Candidate complains about stolen signs

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a West Evergreen Drive address regarding the theft of about 20 political signs, including plywood signs, over the weekend. One of the candidates complaining of being targeted was Mary Reckin, the Democratic candidate in Senate District 4.

Someone called to report a reckless driver who had attempted to drive the reporting party off the road on Montana 206 north of Montana 35. The reckless driver was located and spoken to by law enforcement.

There was a report that a father had cut a person’s arm while gutting a deer in the Whitefish area. The injured person was taken by private vehicle to North Valley Hospital for medical treatment.

A person calling from a Caroline Road address reported that a vicious dog attempted to attack dogs at a neighbor’s house.

A woman calling from an Elk Trail address reported that a man she had met online had gotten her phone number and recently made five unwanted calls to her, including one that was threatening.

Deputies responding to a report of a disturbance at an RV park on U.S. 2 east of Columbia Falls Sunday night ended up arresting a man, 29, for partner-family member assault and criminal mischief.

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday about a disturbance on the 100 block of Ninth Avenue West. Officers encountered a woman with a cut to the back of her head, but the man involved could not be located. The incident is under investigation.

A person calling from the 700 block of Second Avenue West reported the theft of a political sign.

A person calling from an address on the 100 block of Ninth Avenue West reported that he loaned a man his wheelchair and it hasn’t been returned.

A woman calling from the 600 block of Fourth Avenue East said a person hanging out the passenger-side window of a vehicle struck her vehicle with either a bat or a broomstick, causing minor damage.

Monday morning, there was a report from a hostel on First Avenue East North that an ex-employee who had recently been fired threatened to burn the building down, adding that he would like to get popcorn and sit across the street to watch the fire.
