COLUMBIA FALLS - The early season rust is still being shaken off by the Columbia Falls and Bigfork boys soccer squads as both teams came away scoreless in a Northern A matchup on Tuesday.

The Wildcats fired 14 shots but only four came within the reach of Bigfork goalie Nate Roberson. On the other end, the Vikings shot four times and Columbia Falls' keeper and co-captain Jacob Calderwood stopped all four.

"It was a pretty sloppy soccer game on both sides. We're improving every game but we had some opportunities today and we need to score goals," Columbia Falls coach Peter Browne said.

Columbia Falls (0-1-1 overall, 0-0-1 in conference) heads to Livingston on Friday and Belgrade on Saturday. Bigfork hosts Laurel on Friday at 4 p.m.
