Braves' Perrin sets fast pace at time trial

CUT BANK - The season isn't but a week old and Zach Perrin is already setting quite the pace in Class AA.

The Flathead sophomore won the Cut Bank time trials cross country race in 15:37 and was one of five Braves in the top 14 on Friday.

Hunter Schutt placed third, Keifer Wills was eighth and Ben Moon was ninth for Flathead. Jeremiah Gaiser came in 14th.

Columbia Falls' Derrick Williams placed sixth and Justin Whitman was 10th.

In the girls race, Polson freshman Aja Starkey won in 18:44. Teammate Claudia Hewston was sixth, Aja's sister Mesa took eighth and Tegan Bauer was 10th. Flathead's Paige Bouma took third and Columbia Falls' Jinise Osborne was seventh.
