Chickens run a-fowl of the law

Chickens were "running around the neighborhood and tearing up the gardens" on Northern Lights Boulevard, a neighbor told the Kalispell Police Department on Sunday morning. An officer located the owner of the errant hens, and the owner promised to get them "wrangled up."

A woman walking on North Main Street said someone in a black Mustang with white racing stripes drove by and threw an egg and rotten apple at her.

Egging was also a problem at Village Greens, were several cars were egged. The person reporting the pranks said his motorhome was "a particularly good target" for the vandals.

A Fifth Avenue East resident told police an ex-employee keeps e-mailing her and now has hacked into her computer system that's linked to the business.

On Two Mile Drive, the music was so loud a man next door said he "couldn't think straight."

A white and brown Mongoose bicycle was stolen on Sixth Avenue East.

A woman was arrested for shoplifting at a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A Peeping Tom was reported on East California Street. He reportedly had been seen a couple of times in that area. A resident told police the man is white, about 5 feet, 9 inches, and heavy set with shaggy blond hair. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a white shirt.

Three vehicles were drag racing and making noise Monday afternoon on 10th Avenue West. Officers checked it out but couldn't find the racers.

A dispatcher at the 911 dispatch center said Monday evening there was no news to distribute to the media from the Labor Day holiday.
