Polson downs Hamilton

POLSON - Defense was on display in Polson on Friday as the No. 4-ranked Pirates edged Hamilton with a pair of late fourth-quarter touchdowns to win 14-3.

Quarterback Vince DiGiallonardo ran in for a short TD score with just over two minutes left in the game and Polson went up 7-3. Under a minute later, Will Davey returned a 62-yard interception for a touchdown to seal the game.

DiGiallonardo finished with 307 total yards after rushing for 125 and passing for 182.

Hamilton fell to 1-1. Polson (3-0) heads to Anaconda next Friday.

Bigfork 48, Conrad 6

BIGFORK - Travis Knoll returned a kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown and ran for three more scores as Bigfork broke into the win column for the first time.

The Vikings (1-1) scored 34 points in the opening quarter.

Knoll finished with 122 yards on eight carries.

Quarterback Christian Ker was 4 of 6 passing for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

"It was a big win," Bigfork coach Todd Emslie said.

"We just came out and got on them right away. We just didn't let up for four quarters. That was really nice to see."

ANACONDA - Kyle Moore ran one yard for a touchdown and caught a 48-yard pass for another score as Anaconda blanked Whitefish (1-2) in nonconference play.

Anaconda (1-2) led 20-0 at the half.

Anaconda defeated Whitefish for the first time in eight tries.

MISSOULA - Shiloh Kerr rushed for 112 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown as No. 3-ranked Missoula Loyola shut out Eureka in Class B nonconference play.

Eureka (1-1) was plagued by turnovers, throwing one interception and losing three fumbles.

Loyola (2-0) quarterback Bo Hughes was six of 13 passing for 80 yards. He ran for one touchdowns.

CORVALLIS - Kody Berget returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown and it was all Libby after that as the Loggers (2-1) rolled to an easy Class A nonconference victory.

Berget also caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Kelly May, giving Libby a quick 14-0 lead.
