C-Falls' Trenerry gets 100th coaching win

COLUMBIA FALLS - It was more than just a victory.

Columbia Falls blanked Libby on Saturday 7-0, giving Wildkat soccer coach Greg Trenerry his 100th coaching victory in his 14th season with the program.

Danielle Delventhal and McKenzie Kiser both scored two goals as the Wildkats improved to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in Northern A play.

Trenerry's record is 100-50-16.

"It took us a little bit to get going, maybe 10 minutes," Trenerry said. "Then we were playing our game. It was nice to see that many people score."

All total, five Wildkats scored goals.

Jacquelyn Merrill scored the game-tying goal in the first half and the Bravettes secured a Western AA tie with Helena High at Kidsports Complex.

"Helena came out and put a lot of pressure on us," Flathead coach Scott Warnell said. "The good thing is that Helena scored first and we were able to keep our compsure and get a goal in."

Flathead improved to 2-0-1. The Bravettes host Missoula Sentinel on Saturday.

HAMILTON - Junior co-captain Michela Millett scored the game's only goal to give Whitefish the Class A victory.

The Bulldogs' defense earned its third shutout of the season.

"I thought we just possessed the ball better today. Hamilton is a strong team and it was evenly matched," Whitefish coach Erin Morrison said.

Kelly Marsh made 10 saves in goal for Whitefish (4-1 overall). The Bulldogs host Columbia Falls on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Capital's Jessie Darlington scored two goals and the Lady Bruins returned home from Glacier with the victory.

Anna Deleray scored the Wolfpack's lone goal. Glacier fell to 0-1-2 overall and plays at Missoula Big Sky on Tuesday.

No stats were available from the game.

"It was a tough weekend for us," Glacier coach Paul Holmgren said. "I've got a lot of young players and we're just making a lot of young team mistakes right now."

Devin Palmer broke a 3-all tie with a goal at 81 minutes allowing Helena Capital to stay undefeated on the season.

Matt Peters scored three times for Glacier (0-3).

"A great game," Capital coach Glen Wall said. "Glacier came out strong. It was a rollercoaster of a game. It was decided by momentum shifts. Luckily for us, we got the last momentum shift."
