Man drives car down an embankment

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to Westside Reservoir Road outside Hungry Horse after a man drove down an embankment. The man, who suffered minor injuries, told patrol officers he drank a bottle of alcohol because he was distraught about the accident. He wasn’t arrested for DUI, but was cited for driving with a suspended license, careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

The Highway Patrol wants businesses to be aware they will be conducting alcohol sale enforcement at businesses in the Flathead Valley tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from a man at the courthouse who said his ex-girlfriend had called from Ridgewood Drive while slashing his tires. He said he could hear the air rushing out of the tires during the phone call. Deputies found the car undamaged.

Someone on Ninth Street West believes he found two Snowcats that were stolen in 2008.

A woman told deputies her 7-year-old son was assaulted by two unknown girls at Lions Park in Evergreen.

A student at a school on West Evergreen Drive returned an iPod to its owner after being caught stealing it.

Two rings worth an estimated $3,500 were reported stolen at a home on Truman Ridge in Kila.

Kalispell Police responded to a report of a theft at a school on Wolfpack Way. Cash was stolen on Fourth Street West.

The victim of a theft thought they found a stolen ring at a pawn shop on East Idaho Street. A similar incident involving a camera was reported on Seventh Street West.

Assaults were reported on Liberty Street, Wolfpack Way and First Avenue East.

Someone told officers that their motorcycle was stolen on 13th Street last week. A laptop computer was reported stolen on Fifth Avenue West.

Someone saw a black bear in Lawrence Park.

A business on U.S. 93 North called in two thefts totaling $2,000.
