Whitefish squads finish fourth at Missoula Invitational
MISSOULA - Colin Gunstream of Missoula Hellgate and Mari Wolverton of Missoula Sentinel were both wire-to-wire winners at the Missoula Invitational golf tournament on Friday.
Gunstream, 68-66-134 finished 10 shots ahead of runner-up Wyatt Nielson of Bozeman.
Whitefish's Reed Platke, 72-76-148, finished in a three-way tie for sixth. Logan Iverson of Glacier, 75-74-149, finished ninth, and Michael Lavin of Flathead, 75-76-150, placed 10th.
Wolverton, 77-80-157, finished four shots better than runner-up Bergen Buck of Bozeman.
Whitefish's Kiley McConnell, 86-83-169, was 10th.
On the team front, Hellgate took first place in boys competition with a 594 total.
Whitefish, 619, was fourth, Glacier, 625, fifth, and Flathead, 634, sixth.
Bozeman, 654, claimed the girls title. Whitefish, 757, wound up fourth, Glacier, 766, fifth, and Flathead, 833, eighth.
