Our mother, our sister and our friend Mae Christian passed away Sept. 14, 2010, after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mae was born March 26, 1926, to Tillie and Jack Vance in Dagmar, Mont. In 1936, the family moved to Bigfork. She married John Buck on March 27, 1943. They had two children, Myrna Stillwaugh and Daniel Buck. On July 1, 1956, she married Tuffie Christian. They had three children, Ray Christian, Darwin Christian and Jawana Green. Mae worked at Kalispell Regional Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed her daily visits to Del s for coffee and keno, making the pies for family gatherings and making quilts for friends and family. She is survived by a sister, Lois Nyby, of Joliet, Ill.; brother, Kenneth Vance, of Kalispell; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Mae s life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the home of Stan and Jawana Green, 3800 Foothill Road, Kalispell. For questions or directions, feel free to call Jawana at 261-6858.
