Medical condition results in driver's death

The Montana Highway Patrol investigated a crash on Mission Drive north of Kalispell where the driver of a recreational vehicle suffered a medical condition, collided with a tree and later died.

Highway Patrol officer Robert Hensley said the 50-year-old Kalispell resident was alive when emergency responders reached the scene near the intersection of Mission Trail Road at about 2:26 p.m. He died a short time later.

Hensley said it was a low-impact collision and that the man’s death was likely due to the medical condition. His name had not been released because the next of kin had not been notified.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called when a man on Windfield Lane in Columbia Falls learned a winning lottery ticket he had received was apparently a scam.

A resident of Lore Lake Road told deputies that a neighbor was spotlighting his house as part of an ongoing dispute.

Six sheep were reportedly in the roadway near Vonderheide Lane. Goats were seen headed toward U.S. 2 near Marion.

A cashier at a business on U.S. 2 East accidentally triggered a panic alarm.

Initially believed to be the result of a burglary, an open door at a garage on Badrock Drive is now assumed to have been caused by wind.

Two inmates were separated after a fight at the Flathead County Detention Center.

A resident of East Bluegrass Drive reported an attempted burglary after discovering a screen had been pried off a window.

Someone on McCaffery Road complained that their house had been egged and covered with toilet paper multiple times.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle on Smith Lake Road. An iPod was taken on First Avenue South near Martin City.

After finding a dog, a woman on Bass Lake Drive said she knew who the owner was but that the person had been verbally abusive in the past. The dog was taken to a shelter.

A dispute between roommates on Krause Lane culminated in a report of theft.

A medical marijuana provider near U.S. 93 North reported that she was receiving threatening text messages.

On Ridgewood Drive, a man told deputies he was assaulted by his wife. A report was forwarded to the county attorney’s office.

An orange Corvette was seen going approximately 100 miles per hour on U.S. 93 North, according to a caller.

A 16-year-old boy on Bison Drive ran away from home. He left a note.

A woman on North Riding Road called officers after returning home from a trip to find that her son had thrown a party during her absence and that marijuana was left behind.

At the intersection of Grandview Drive and U.S. 93 South, someone saw a vehicle collide with a teenager who was riding a bike. Both the driver of the car and the teenager left the scene.

Mail theft was reported on Fifth Avenue West.

A landlord of a home on Parkway Drive called officers and said tenants had flooded the basement of the residence three times.

Assault was alleged by a woman on Liberty Street who said the father of her children pushed her while she was carrying a child. In the end, she didn’t want to press charges.

He said he was just looking for a dry place to sleep, but a homeless man at the First Avenue West post office had to move along after being found sleeping in the building.

A newspaper delivery boy reportedly said he saw a stumbling man on North Meridian Road who was “trying to stand on his head.”

Someone called officers after a man allegedly left five children alone for 10 minutes on Seventh Avenue West.

Shortly after someone complained that a vehicle was parked in a handicapped spot near Windward Way, it was discovered that the vehicle’s windshield was broken. No report whether the complaining party took matters into his own hands.

A 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, eluding an officer and having no insurance on 10th Street West.

A shopper at a business on Hutton Ranch Road reported that someone reached in a vehicle and took $500 from an envelope.
