Glacier, Sentinel battle to tie

by The Daily Inter Lake
| September 24, 2010 2:00 AM

Glacier scored early - just four minutes into play on a shot by Tanner Maroney - but Sentinel scored late and pulled out a 1-1 Western AA soccer tie at Glacier on Thursday.

"A pretty straight-forward (match)," Glacier coach Ryan O'Rourke said.

"We came out well, a lot of pressure. Maroney got the early goal. I thought that set the pace for us."

O'Rourke said Glacier had some good scoring opportunities, but couldn't cash in.

"It's tough to hold a 1-0 lead for the entire length of the game," he said. "We had a defensive letdown at the very end there."
