Virgil Bryant, 93

Virgil Bryant passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Brendan House. He was born in Garden City, S.D., on April 20, 1917, to Ray and Karrie (Bass) Bryant. After serving in the Navy, he relocated to Conrad with his wife Clarinda and three children, Richard, Kenneth and Linda. Virgil and Clarinda were later divorced. On March 14, 1969, Virgil married Juanita Hembd. He worked construction throughout the state of Montana. Virgil was a member of Eagles Aerie 234, Montana, Old-Time Fiddlers and Northwest Montana Accordion Association. He was well known for playing the banjo at the Eagles and Sykes . He was preceded in death by four sisters; his son, Richard; and son-in-law, Gene Tredway. Virgil is survived by his wife, Juanita; son, Kenneth, and wife, Harriet; daughter, Linda Tredway; and daughter-in-law, Jean Bryant; sister, Alverta; and brother, Fred, and wife, Betty Bryant; along with five stepsons, Richard, Dan, Gary and wife Shelly, and Steve and Dennis Hembd; two grandsons, Jim and Steve Bryant; and two great-granddaughters, Tara and Laura Bryant; also numerous stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virgil will be missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
