Man charged with baseball-bat beating

Shane Glass said he was just trying to “beat some sense” into a man he believed was sleeping with his wife.

Glass, 30, allegedly used a baseball bat and an electric screwdriver on Sept. 23 to bludgeon Geneo Skare as he slept in a camper just off U.S. 2 East near Coram.

On Tuesday, he was charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated burglary, both felonies. If convicted, he could face up to 60 years in prison and fines of up to $100,000.

According to court documents, Skare was awakened by Glass beating him with a baseball bat early Sept. 23. Glass allegedly switched to the battery end of an electric screwdriver before eventually fleeing the camper.

Skare told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he knew Glass because he had a sexual relationship with the man’s wife approximately one month prior.

Glass had come home and found his wife and Skare together, according to court documents.

Skare was transported to North Valley Hospital where he was treated for various non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputy Nelson Grant arrested Glass the day after the assault. Glass told Grant that he had gone to Skare’s camper because he couldn’t sleep and was upset about his wife’s alleged infidelity, according to court documents.

An arraignment has not been scheduled.

Glass is currently being held at the Flathead County Adult Detention Center with bail set at $40,000.
