BIGFORK - Glacier and Bigfork managed to beat Mother Nature by completing a girls tennis dual, which ended in a 4-4 tie, on yet another gray, wet, snowy and blustry day for spring sports Tuesday

The weather, however, finally won out during the boys dual between the Wolfpack and Vikings. Glacier led 4-2 when the dual was finally called off because of dangerous court conditions with two matches - Nos. 3-4 singles - still on the court. Bigfork was leading in both.

"We battled through the snow, it was kind of interesting," Glacier coach Josh Munro said.

But on a more positive note ...

"We got a lot of our younger, less experienced players some experience today," he said.

"We had a couple of tight matches.

"Karl Hellwig and Evan Froystad (at No. 1 doubles) played really well against a pretty good team (Bigfork's Ryan Gembala and Evan Jordt)," he added.

"They went to tie-break last week and again this week.

Gembala and Jordt won 11-10 (5).

Munro said all his girls doubles teams "played well."

Glacier, along with Flathead, hosts Great Falls High and C.M. Russell on Thursday at 1 p.m.
