Sharon Ann Webb, 67, passed away on July 1, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with the complications of diabetes.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Myrt; her mother, Rose Wetmore; her children, Geoffery and Cynthia; and her four grandchildren, Chad, Sabrina, Forrest and Gwendolyn.

She was born June 18, 1944, in Denver, to Lawrence and Rose Wetmore. She lived her early life in Castle Rock, Colo. In the late 1950s her parents to moved to  southern California and she attended high school in Hawthorne, Calif., where she was a classmate with the Beach Boys.

She met her future husband, Myrt Webb, after high school and both attended UCLA. In 1966, she and Myrt were married and started the adventure of being an Army wife. These were the Vietnam years and there were many moves and hardships, but she never lost her bright disposition and was an inspiration to everyone she met. Her help to Army families and communities made her as essential a part of the defense of the United States as any service member.

After the Army Sharon and Myrt made a second career in local government, serving in Colfax, Wash., before moving to Columbia Falls. Her years in the Flathead were happy ones as she was able to settle in one place for more than a few years. She was active in the Columbia Falls community at the United Methodist Church and the Columbia Falls Food Bank.

Sharon was a bright and loving light to everyone she met or knew. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and loved and helped everyone she met. She will be missed.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 8, at the United Methodist Church in Columbia Falls, 117 2nd Street West. A reception will immediately follow at the church's Fellowship Hall.

Arrangements are entrusted to Columbia Mortuary.
