| July 12, 2011 2:00 AM

Dorothy Eileen Rein Hemmah, 83, “went to be with her Lord and savior” on July 9, 2011, at her Somers home.

Dorothy was born at home in Campbell, Minn., on June 21, 1928. She was the only child of Alick and Mae, but had many cousins. Dorothy attended country school for four years in Marshall County, S.D. After fourth grade, there were not enough kids to keep the school open, so they had to make arrangements to go to a town school in Veblen, S.D.

Dorothy attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, S.D., and taught country school for five years.

She married Roland Hemmah in 1949. She and Dad moved from South Dakota in 1960 and followed highway construction from Killdeer, N.D.; Hebron, N.D.; Miles City, Fort Benton, Brady, Babb, Lake Five, Superior and Bonner, before settling in Somers in 1965.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Alick and Mae (Nesbitt) Rein.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Roland; her four children, Faye and Stewart Schiele of Ronan, Allan Hemmah of Lakeside, Lorrie and James Werner of Lance Creek, Wyo., and Ann Holland of Helena; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at Glacier Memorial Gardens, followed by a luncheon at the Vista Linda restaurant in Somers.
