Thieves, vandals, liars reach out to police

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a call from someone on Arbour View Drive West who reported that belongings were stolen from his or her vehicle Monday night. The caller said the items were found on his or her front porch the following morning.

Someone vandalized a boat on Trumble Creek Road.

Deputies searched for a man on Holt Stage Road after he called 911 four times and claimed he needed assistance. They found the man, who didn’t have a real emergency and has a history of lying to law enforcement.

A resident near Echo Lake complained that motorists were still driving over a flooded causeway. The road has been closed for several weeks.

A stereo was stolen from a vehicle on Lakeview Drive in Lakeside.

Identity theft was alleged by someone on Montana 83 near Bigfork.

A construction worker reported that someone barricaded a subdivision on McWenneger Drive.

A man on Whitefish Stage Road wanted officers to help him remove his sister from his property. He said she was living in a truck.

Two scooters and a bicycle were reported stolen at a business on West Evergreen Drive.

An intoxicated man was told to stay out of traffic on U.S. 2 East after a caller said he was lunging toward moving vehicles and waving his arms.

An assault was reported by the mother of a 13-year-old girl on First Street South East in Hungry Horse who said her daughter was slapped by a 14-year-old girl.

Trespassing was alleged on Beach Road in Bigfork where a woman said young men were swimming in a private area.

Two men were seen fighting on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls.

No one wanted to press charges after a man on U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls initially reported that he was chased and assaulted by a man carrying a beer bottle early Wednesday morning.
