Iraqi money missing from card table

The Kalispell Police Department received an initial report that $1 million had been stolen from a card table on Greatview Drive Saturday at about 11:15 a.m. A caller suspected that a 13-year-old girl had taken it. Officers later learned that it was Iraqi currency, worth about $1,400. Police are investigating the theft.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery near Woodland Park Friday at about 9:05 p.m. A woman said that an unknown woman approached her daughter, said she had a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled in a white Chevrolet pickup truck and was last seen traveling on Shady Glen Drive.

Four youths were briefly detained and questioned after they were seen entering a warehouse near Eighth Avenue West North.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked at a business on Third Avenue East.

Officers asked a young man to leave a medical facility on Sunnyview Lane after he arrived wearing all black and carrying a duffle bag, leading employees to report he was acting suspiciously.

A 5-year-old boy was returned to his mother after he was seen riding a scooter near 21st Street East without supervision.

Youths were seen on the roof of a concession stand on Second Avenue West.

A woman on Third Street West called 911 and reported that her husband was hitting her. Both the man and woman had been drinking alcohol. They were separated.

Someone reported that a man was swearing and causing a scene at a business on North Main Street Friday night. Officers responded, but employees said nothing had happened.

A suspicious fire was reported on a trestle near Appleway Drive at about 7 p.m. Friday.

A 9-year-old boy reportedly cut a 5-year-old boy with a knife on Appleway Drive.

A woman on Woodland Park Drive said a man kicked her in the back and ran away while she was walking.

An intoxicated man on Seventh Avenue West called 911 to report that a woman punched him in the face during an argument.

Someone stole a purse, keys and cellphone at a bar on Woodland Park Drive.

A man was cited and released after allegedly trying to steal a sandwich and a bag of chips from a business on First Avenue East North.

A backpack was stolen from a vehicle on East Idaho Street.

Officers responded to a home on Harrison Boulevard after a caller said a man was beating up a woman. Everyone at the residence was intoxicated, and no one wanted to pursue charges.

A man was seen sleeping inside a running vehicle on First Avenue East. He was gone when officers investigated.

A bicycle was taken from a carport on Fifth Avenue West.

A syringe was turned over to police after it was found near North Meridian Drive.

A bag containing a knife, maps and hunting gear was stolen from a vehicle on Ponderosa Street.
