Glacier All-Stars roll past Kalispell

COLUMBIA FALLS - The Glacier All-Stars opened State Babe Ruth 13U Tournament play on Wednesday with a 10-0 victory over the Kalispell All-Stars at Sapa-Johnsrud Field.

Jesse Walburn led the Glacier offense, going 3 for 4, while Colten Parker went the first three innings on the mound and Jonny Sapa pitched the final two.

Glacier scored four runs in the first inning. Ged Nagler singled in one run while the other three runs scored off walks.

Glacier scored two runs in the second, both on passed balls, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.

"Glacier did a good job with the bats, fielding and worked as a team," Glacier coach Brent Wetsch said.

"Kalispell ... they battled, they always do."

Glacier advances to face Helena today at 8 p.m. Glacier, 19-5 on the season, has beaten Helena twice this season.

In today's other contest, Havre plays Bitterroot at 4 p.m.

The tournament ends on Saturday with the winner advancing to regional play.
