Loggers rally at Western A district tournament

LIBBY - A nine-run seventh inning pushed the Libby Loggers past the Bitterroot Red Sox for a 10-7 come-from-behind victory on Thursday at the Western A District American Legion baseball tournament.

The Red Sox clubbed 11 of their 13 hits in the first 3 1/2 innings to take a 7-0 lead.

"Things just were not going our way early," Libby coach Kelly Morford said.

"Then the tables turned. We started catching some bounces."

In the seventh inning, Libby had six hits and capitalized on three Red Sox errors.

Chris Herbig went 3 for 4 to pace the Logger offense. Justin Wicka doubled and drove in two runs for Libby.

Libby (37-18) has won 10 straight.

Kalispell 4, Bucs 3 (10)

Kalispell capitalized on two errors and a walk to score the game-winning run in the 10th inning.

Jake Johnson, who scored in extra innings, doubled and drove in two runs.

He finished with two hits in four plate appearances for the Lakers.

Kalispell moves on to face top-seed Libby today at 7:05 p.m.

Missoula used a pair of five-run innings to drop Glacier.
