FVCC hearings focus on budgets, right-of-way issue

Flathead Valley Community College’s board of trustees will take public comments today on fiscal year 2012 budgets and a right-of- way agreement that involves selling 8.8 acres to the Montana Department of Transportation for a “Reserve South” road.

The public hearings will be held during the board of trustees meeting that begins at 3:45 p.m. Monday in room 140/144 in Blake Hall on the Kalispell campus.

President Jane Karas will provide a summary of discussions held with Department of Transportation officials at the meeting. Following public comment, the board will vote on a recommendation to approve Karas working with the department to set compensation for the land.

Also at the Monday trustee meeting, the board will hold a public hearing on the fiscal year 2012 budgets including:

• $16,789,762 for the general fund budget

• $795,000 for the Kalispell campus Continuing Education budget

• $70,000 for the Lincoln County campus Continuing Education budget

Following the hearing, trustees will vote on a recommendation to approve of the fiscal year 2012 budget.
