Paintball shooting not recommended

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a harassment complaint from a man on Seventh Avenue East in Kalispell who asked if it was OK to shoot his neighbor with a paintball gun if he came on his property. (Answer: No.) The neighbors were reportedly arguing about a barking dog.

A litter of feral kittens was reportedly found under a trailer on Mountain Drive in Hungry Horse. The caller said many of them have eye infections.

A parent on Conrad Drive said that a youth jumped on her child’s bicycle, rode away and did not return at 4:41 p.m. Wednesday.

Theft was alleged after a bank employee discovered that the former owner of a foreclosed business on Swan Way in Bigfork had removed several items from the building.

Credit card fraud was reported by someone on McMannamy Draw.

A caller reported that there were five or six rattlesnakes living under a Flathead County Dumpster. They were actually large garter snakes.

On Shady Lane, a woman called and complained that a landlord was harassing her about rent.

A van recently given to a man by a local charitable organization was found abandoned along Big Mountain Road.

A woman on Caribou Street in Coram accused a neighbor of assaulting her Wednesday afternoon.

Search and rescue personnel were dispatched to look for a 70-year-old man reported missing by his wife while the two were picking huckleberries near Sandefer Lane outside Columbia Falls Wednesday at about 2 p.m. The man was found safe before they arrived.

A pug named Otis reportedly escaped an enclosure near U.S. 93 south of Whitefish.

On Bear Trail in Whitefish, a caller said that a neighbor’s dog came under a fence and killed a puppy.

A woman on Truman Creek Road in Kila said a man threatened to shoot her if she sped past his property again.

A deputy spoke with a man who is living inside a storage unit on U.S. 2 West after his ex-wife expressed concern for his health. The man said he was fine and that he had permission to live in the unit.

The Kalispell Police Department responded after a green Jeep collided with a grain tower at a business at the intersection of Fifth Avenue West and Center Street Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m. No one was injured. The woman, who had her daughter in the vehicle, was taken in to have her blood drawn, and someone at the scene said she was intoxicated.

Two women reportedly asked a man for money on West California Street. They sped away when he offered them a gift card for fuel, he said.

Someone on Fourth Avenue West reported that a purse was stolen sometime last week.

Officers were unable to locate two youths who were reportedly seen smoking marijuana on a hill in Woodland Park.

A young girl on Fourth Street West said she received a “creepy” phone call from a man who claimed he lived next door but had an out-of-state area code.

Someone who made a noise complaint at an apartment complex on Ninth Avenue West later learned that someone had slashed a tire on his or her vehicle. There was no proof it was retaliatory.

Tar or paint was poured over a vehicle parked on Eighth Avenue West, according to a caller.

Obscene words were written in marker on a vehicle parked on Seventh Street West.

A bicycle was stolen from a rack on the back of a vehicle parked on Pheasant Run.

Two men, one boy and a woman were arrested after a caller reported they were smoking marijuana and throwing garbage at a gazebo in Woodland Park.

A man was told not to return to a business on Fifth Avenue West where an employee reported that he had argued with a woman in the doorway Wednesday night.

On Kenway Drive, a caller reported that a neighbor cursed at him and stared at him angrily.
