Roland Horst

| May 1, 2011 2:00 AM

Seeking three-year term representing Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Whitefish high school districts on FVCC board.

Occupation: medical office manager

Background/Education: B.S. in education from Eastern Montana College. Taught middle school, then worked a variety of jobs from construction to sales including 13 years at Plum Creek where he was a supervisor. Active with Montana ProLife Coalition.

Reason for Running: Horst said he wanted to give voters a choice after hearing about recent elections where incumbents had no challengers and elections were canceled.

He said he didn’t file to change the direction of the college but to continue the work of providing exemplary education. He would like to eliminate waiting times for students to get into nursing programs. Horst said education should be a lifetime activity.
