Jay E. Yost, 52

 Jay E. Yost, 52, of Eureka, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Eureka, from natural causes. 

He was born Oct. 23, 1958, in Big Timber, to John and Carole Yost. He grew up and attended school in Livingston, and graduated from Park County High School with the Class of 1977.

He was a member of the 1975 Class A state football championship team which went undefeated that year. He attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.

Jay married Jill Smail on Nov. 29, 1986, in Kalispell. They moved to Eureka in 1991, where Jay went to work for the First National Bank in Eureka. He opened Tobacco Valley Insurance in 1996. He was an active member of the Eureka community. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family.

His father, John, preceded him in death.     

Survivors include his wife, Jill, of Eureka; children, Jonna Yost and Eli Yost, both of Eureka; a brother, Craig Yost, and wife, Deanie, of Livingston; a sister, Danice Heidt, and husband, Brian, of Livingston; his mother, Carole Yost, of Livingston; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday May 5, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka.
